Weddings & Special Occasions
The most popular service I provide is a performance during welcome drinks. Your guests are welcomed at the reception venue by the warm sound of the saxophone (with backing tracks or with a live jazz quartet). You may wish to choose a special song to be played on your arrival and as you enter the wedding breakfast. The saxophone can also create a lovely ambience during your meal.
Often couples request a song to be played during the ceremony, for example as the bride enters or during the signing of the register. Whatever you choose, I'm happy to help make your day extra special. I can also provide entertainement for the evening to get the party going!

The Shawsax Quartet
The
Chris Shaw Quartet perform a number of sets from jazz, blues and swing
jive. Lead by tenor sax player and vocalist Chris Shaw, the quartet has
live guitar, double bass and drums. The band play the swing, bebop, latin
and modern jazz standards, suitable for all occasions. For weddings,
over meals, and at socail events etc the band perform "Smooth Jazz"
which is relaxing, the voulme does not interupt conversation, the
instruments are played in a nice fasion, however, you can still dance.

The band also play the rock n roll standards in a true bopabilly 1950's style. Covering hits such as Shake Rattle & Roll (Big Joe Turner), Route 66 (Bobby Troupe) Hound Dog (Elvis / Big Mama Thornton) and Rock Around the clock. Each song is played at a tempo suitable for dance classes and at an enjoyable volume.
